hey, I'm Joan
I'm a musician by training who never managed to stick to just one thing. Somewhere along the way I started tinkering with machines, learned to code, and it slowly turned into a job I didn't expect. Since June 2026 I'm the AI tech lead of my team.
past
I grew up in La Ràpita, and moved to Barcelona to study art history. Clarinet at 6, saxophone at 15. I've played jazz festivals and venues across Europe and America, and co-led a swing band, The Swing Cats.
Technology was always one of my other passions. I learned to program by messing around, and joined lots of projects, starting with websites for friends in 2012. I never thought any of it could become a real job.
It did. I joined Ingersoll Rand in 2024 as a frontend developer, and found out that, even though I didn't believe it, I was a good match for an organization.

I lead the AI projects of DXP at Ingersoll Rand, working remotely from Japan. We try to build internal AI solutions for other teams and for our own dev team.
I live in Osaka with my family. When I'm not working I walk around the city, spend time with them, take photos, and try not to lose my chops on the saxophone.
I also work on more side projects than I should. For once, one of them went further than any before it: TJP, a website, newsletter and more for musicians.
future
The future is uncertain with AI. Right now I only care about learning and growing in a field where, many times, I still don't get how things work.
And I hope to have a side project that works, so I can live the whole path: building it, growing it, being part of every step. You learn a lot that way. It opens your mind and helps you understand a product, and a need, from every point of view.

things that matter
- An unexpected career, a world I never thought I'd be part of, explored like an adventure.
- TJP, meant to be a community for jazz musicians. It ended up growing on the side of the tools.
- My own music project in Japan, free at last from balancing what sells with what I like.
honestly
I jump from one thing to another with no apparent continuity. Luckily, it seems to add up to a profile that, at some point, can be useful somewhere.
